I worked on Monday, made homemade pizzas for my housemates, saw my sister and a family friend, baked two blueberry crumbles (they were amazing and SUPER easy to make too), watched a whole bunch of films (Like As We Know It, The Breakfast Club, The Dark Knight), eaten lamb burgers (do you see how much food features in my life? haha), worked on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, had a little too much wine at a colleague’s leaving do, got 1000 words of my dissertation (final university assignment) done and eaten homemade mediterrean cous cous.

All in all a pretty decent week.

I have also changed my plans somewhat.

Currently I’m awaiting the deposit back from my old place (about £400). My original plan for that money was to put £250 towards travelling to Sweden in December for new year and in November for my friend’s birthday, and the other £150 towards spending money for when I go to the US in two weeks (SO EXCITED!), but we got a final gas and electric bill for the old place which is £100, so instead of £250 for Sweden I only have £150 + whatever I can save by November, but that’s okay cause it means I can spend more time with my family after Christmas.

Also, D contacted me via facebook yesterday, saying he’s been away for the past two weeks at a festival, but hopes I’m doing great and have booked my plane tickets already – SWOON So I’m a pretty happy bunny, and as I break down the coming weeks it doesn’t seem all that long to wait till November to see him – I’m counting the days!

I think it was, apologies.

So. After meeting and getting to know this wonderful guy who unfortunately for now lives in another country to the one that I currently dwell in, and after exchanging a grand total of two boring messages with him since being back, I have decided to do…

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

If there’s one thing life has taught me, it’s that if it’s meant to be it will happen on it’s own.

There are a couple of rules that I live by; and with regards to guys, the one rule I always stick by is ‘We don’t do desperate.’

I don’t do it.

I’m not that girl that is texting/calling/skyping/emailing/facebooking every five minutes. I don’t do it. It’s embarassing.

The guy knows where to find me, I don’t need to haunt him with my presence every second he’s alive for the next year.

So, some of you may think I’m giving up on him/the idea of him and I completely.

I promise I’m not.

Actually, quite on the contrary, I have decided not to give up on him.

I’m just going to sit and wait.

Usually, when I meet someone and like them, and then feel like they might not be interested, I just let it go. I saddle up, move on, and decide that well if he doesn’t want me, then forget him and good luck to the next guy! But with D, I just feel that it isn’t over.

Unlike previous situations, he’s not studying at my university. I don’t see him on a daily basis. We don’t live near each other. We don’t have a massive amount of mutual friends.

I’m not going to check my phone or email everyday for the next year, expecting a text, BUT I am going to keep my heart open to the idea of him. And I don’t think doing so will really effect my chances of meeting anyone here,because frankly I haven’t met anyone in the last two or so years anyway and have been single for the last five, and well, I don’t really want to date anyone here because of the complications when I do move abroad. So, no harm done.

I’m getting on with my life here, I’m going back there in November and December and we’ll see what does or doesn’t happen.

But I’m going to be happy either way.
